Chef Amanda Haba is an assistant corporate pastry chef at Albert Uster Imports. She works in the research and development kitchen, developing recipes, testing products, and assisting with demos and special events.
Chef Amanda first started working in a restaurant at a young age, folding linen and bussing tables. Eventually she moved into the prep kitchen were she felt at home. After finishing high school, she enrolled at Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island, earning her AAS in Baking and Pastry Arts and a BAS in Foodservice Entrepreneurship. Upon graduation, she began working in the pastry kitchen at the Ritz-Carlton Tyson’s Corner. Her diversified responsibilities included developing and preparing desserts for the club lounge, brunches, and special events. In addition, she also worked on specialty cakes and wedding cakes. Her future goals include to eventually compete and, one day, to own a pastry shop.
