Walter von Rautenkranz

Regional Sales Manager for the West-Coast Region
 

Walter von Rautenkranz joined the AUI team in 1995 as a sales representative for Maryland and Delaware, doubling sales during his tenure. In 2003, he was promoted to corporate account manager and now takes charge of corporate agreements with hotels such as Marriott, Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, Hilton Group and Starwood. He also assists the national sales manager in training the sales force in regards to the hotels served under these contracts. His goal is to double sales within three years and develop more programs with other organizations.

Prior to joining AUI, Mr. von Rautenkranz worked as a legal analyst for a US government subcontractor. His primary focus was to analyze the laws of the Caribbean nations for US energy companies to develop renewable energy and energy efficiency programs. In the 1980s, he owned and operated a Western Sizzlin’ Steak House in Thomson, Georgia and operated a real estate investment firm for foreign investors.

Mr. von Rautenkranz holds an MA/JD in international law from American University’s School of International Service and the Washington College of Law. He earned his undergraduate business degree from the University of Georgia and a Handels Diploma (Business School) from a private school in Switzerland accredited by the University of St. Gallen.
